It's always Summer somewhere

If you are like me it just seems too early for Fall, for football and pumpkins and bobbing for apples. Thankfully it's always Summer somewhere, especially in SL, and Flow's excellent boardshorts and retro swim suits from this month's Mens Dept provide a nice excuse to ignore the season and enjoy some SL rays. The boardshorts have a texture-change band and like the swim suits are available with liquid-mesh sizing in a range of colors and at an attractive price.

The avis feature skins by (Red)Sand (previously bogged here) and a recent skin gift from Aeva with shapes by Novus and Shape it Up. Hair is from Alli & Ali, where numerous styles are on sale for 50l through the end of the month.

Gradations

A few looks today with Ravi and some fun with lines and gradations or grayscales or something like that. Actually there is no real theme, but we thought we'd do some fashion shots in this nice mesh build from Designer Prims (99l on MP), before focusing more on the furniture and architecture.

My shape is an excellent new release from Baholi, which has been coming out with great shapes both in-store and at events like She & Him (see recent posts for more from Baholi). The skin is "Poppy" from Aeva, also a new release that you can try in-store (a version is now on sale for a limited time at the Outlet). Vegas Style

A few looks today mostly from Menswear Fashion Week, with a little Fantasy Faire thrown in for good measure. MWFW brings together a large number of designers focused on menswear with fashion shows and new releases for the event (ends Apr 27). The theme is Las Vegas this year, which means casual, stylish clothing with a rakish twist - like with SF Design's new Lounge Lizard jacket, which has a texture change hud with six cool motifs (sale price of just 100l for the duration of the event). I also quite like American Bazaar's open shirt/tee combination, available in various colors and with different tee options. It looks great with BeUp!'s new jeans and you'll feel like money wearing it.

Las Vegas is all about fantasy and 22769/Bauwerk's Royal Room skybox from Fantasy Faire would fit right in there. It's Mesh with marble texturing and has a master suite & main living area suitable for high rollers. You can check out 22769's numerous fashion releases for Fantasy Faire through the 28th.

Richmond (Part. 2)

Another round in the Richmond skybox from [Deco] available at Mens Dept this month (see part. 1 here), this time featuring an excellent new pool table from End of Daze among other things. And since billiards are best played à deux, some charming company was clearly in order. Of course, after breaking in the table, the evening progressed to other games...

Note that the female fashions are partly from the Golden Apple Hunt, which is a nice little hunt on the NYC sim with 12 pretty amazing gifts at a small price (ends Dec 24). Since this is a long post (after a long evening), I'll save some general views of the build/decor for a final wrap-up.

Mens Dept started its December round last week and as usual there are tons of great things both for your avi and home. I especially like the Nordic Sweaters from bleak, but the furniture is also outstanding, particularly the Nippon desk set and matching shelf from Kusshon, which includes some cool associated decor items.

The Frost shopping event also started today. American Bazaar is participating with some very nice new sweaters at a very low price. Go check it out...apparently there are some excellent deals to be had there.   

The sexy avi I'm showing here is a new release skin from (Red)Sand on a shape from Shape it up! (plus hair from Ink).

Air

Dirty Little Secret has an excellent gift in the Something Old, Something New Hunt: a fully furnished, multi-level build called Air. Like its name, the house emphasizes the flow of light and air, with the use of skylight ceilings, glass walls, exterior staircases, multiple patio areas and draped fabrics. Air also features a water surround with trees, built-in wall storage in the bedroom/bathroom and the furniture is available as separates, so you can keep what you want (or use it in other builds). I've added some pieces from End of Daze that work well in the space. 

Tash Porthos of Dirty Little Secret is also celebrating the anniversary of her store with a ton of group gifts and the DLS group is free to join until the end of the month. Join her group for her latest Mesh gifts (and stay in it because Tash is always generous).

Baffled Pt.2

I've used quite a lot of decor items in this post, some from the Antique Grid Show Hunt (see my previous post for more) - an easy hunt to do with some very nice gifts. I also want to thank Plato Novo of %Percent for lending me her newish enamel cabinets (the set has been released over the last few months). Baffled

Baffle is a great shop that is unfortunately closing in world and until November 11 everything is on sale for 55l. You can find an eclectic mix of pose props, decor and other items there, but the builds are truly special (see my Secret Garden post for another Baffle build I recently blogged).

Each design is totally unique and range from a domed floating home in the middle of the ocean, to a winter igloo complete with Polar bear or a creepy cottage with graveyard and hidden slaughter chamber. After rezzing them on the demo platform, I couldn't resist buying them all.

I've done some fashion shots below using Baffle's Le Petit Reve skybox from the sale, which is a fun approximation of a slightly grungy Paris apartment with some great texturing. See my next post for more shots of the build.
