Richmond (Part 3)

This concludes my series with a few more random shots inside the Port Richmond skybox from [Deco] on sale at Mens Dept (see Pt. 1 and Pt.2). After the late night shown in the previous post, the morning was a bit bleary, but nothing that cake & presents couldn't fix...

The fashion here is a mix of Mens Dept, some hunt items and two nice group gifts from +HuHu+ (a relatively new store with some cool designs - check it out). For women, English Muffin has an excellent little sweater dress with boots gift that includes six skins. While this is meant as a group gift (and the group has a 100L fee), it is currently set to free (in the Teddy bear under the tree), so don't hesitate. Update: now 75l for non group members.

The [Deco] build is another great offering in a series that have been sold at Men Dept. It features an alcove fireplace, skylights and an open upper level. Overall it has a cool loft feel with plenty of light (see final pic below).

Baffled

Baffle is a great shop that is unfortunately closing in world and until November 11 everything is on sale for 55l. You can find an eclectic mix of pose props, decor and other items there, but the builds are truly special (see my Secret Garden post for another Baffle build I recently blogged).

Each design is totally unique and range from a domed floating home in the middle of the ocean, to a winter igloo complete with Polar bear or a creepy cottage with graveyard and hidden slaughter chamber. After rezzing them on the demo platform, I couldn't resist buying them all.

I've done some fashion shots below using Baffle's Le Petit Reve skybox from the sale, which is a fun approximation of a slightly grungy Paris apartment with some great texturing. See my next post for more shots of the build.

Warehousing

Are you ready for some...

Autumn is on the way so I thought I'd do a small round-up of some early Fall fashions using two nice pose prop gifts from Bent and What Next that fit the theme. The clothing is a mix of hunt gifts, items from the latest Mens Dept round and a number of things from Fashion Emergency (a great store for cool fashions).

Vintagy

With August drawing to a close, there are just a few days left for Vintage Fair (ends Aug 29), where you will find three sims with 100s of shops showcasing new releases with a "vintage" twist (along with the occasional gift). I love to see the pose props/poses released at these events and Vintage Fair is full of new items from the posemakers. One of the best is "Escher" from Bent, which has 22 cool, artsy poses in a surreal, multi-level white structure that reminds me of a classic Calvin Klein fragrance ad.

The post also features two new skin releases. Ezra is another in a series of great skins from Heartsick available at Vintage Fair and I imagine in-store after the event. Essences' new skin Dinu is on-sale at Mens Dept for the super low price of 85l (Essences is also gifting a tone from this skin in the Menstuff hunt).
