Cranberry Isle

Nothing like the joys of a weekend getaway. Cranberry Isle, a 30-minute ferry ride from the Maine mid-coast, is known for it's quaint streets and sprawling summer clapboard houses, wooded paths and rugged shore. Bikes are the preferred means of travel here and any old rust bucket with a basket will do. Happily, the days have warmed enough to stash the winter wardrobe, but a sweater or jacket is still required. Visit before the summer people come!

Autumn Posing

I wanted to feature Aeva's Elijah skin from my previous post again, this time with some more seasonal looks as I leave Summer behind. It's tough finding good skin gifts for men, so don't miss this one, particularly as it includes all skin tones. It's always Summer somewhere

If you are like me it just seems too early for Fall, for football and pumpkins and bobbing for apples. Thankfully it's always Summer somewhere, especially in SL, and Flow's excellent boardshorts and retro swim suits from this month's Mens Dept provide a nice excuse to ignore the season and enjoy some SL rays. The boardshorts have a texture-change band and like the swim suits are available with liquid-mesh sizing in a range of colors and at an attractive price.

The avis feature skins by (Red)Sand (previously bogged here) and a recent skin gift from Aeva with shapes by Novus and Shape it Up. Hair is from Alli & Ali, where numerous styles are on sale for 50l through the end of the month.

Angel Forgotten

I rarely have time to explore SL's great Sim designs, but Forgotten City, with its monumental structures, strange machines and misty cobblestone streets, set amidst the ruins of an earlier metropolis, is one that will fire your imagination. You wouldn't be surprised in a place like this if angels surveyed the streets, forgotten in time and place like the city they inhabit. Bring your camera when you go...    

The wings & first three poses shown are a new release from HISPose, one of the best makers specialized in props/poses for men (or angels). The wings are color change and there are actually 6 poses in the set at the very reasonable price of just 100l. This is just a quickie post I threw together in between packing since I'm about to leave for winter break somewhere in the real world. Air

Dirty Little Secret has an excellent gift in the Something Old, Something New Hunt: a fully furnished, multi-level build called Air. Like its name, the house emphasizes the flow of light and air, with the use of skylight ceilings, glass walls, exterior staircases, multiple patio areas and draped fabrics. Air also features a water surround with trees, built-in wall storage in the bedroom/bathroom and the furniture is available as separates, so you can keep what you want (or use it in other builds). I've added some pieces from End of Daze that work well in the space.
