Vroom, Vroom

Have you been to Rockabilly Fair yet? Such a cute event with little 50s style houses set up on suburban streets. My clothing here from American Bazaar and Mirrors Enigma are new releases for Rockabilly. Don't miss it before the event fades away like Buddy Holly on the 23rd.

If I could have rezzed at rockabilly, I would have taken Bauwerk's Vroom sofa for a spin there. Instead it gives a lil 50s flair to my living room as I wait for my Peggy Sue. The sofa and many other great items are available in the November Mens Dept round...

It's always Summer somewhere

If you are like me it just seems too early for Fall, for football and pumpkins and bobbing for apples. Thankfully it's always Summer somewhere, especially in SL, and Flow's excellent boardshorts and retro swim suits from this month's Mens Dept provide a nice excuse to ignore the season and enjoy some SL rays. The boardshorts have a texture-change band and like the swim suits are available with liquid-mesh sizing in a range of colors and at an attractive price.

The avis feature skins by (Red)Sand (previously bogged here) and a recent skin gift from Aeva with shapes by Novus and Shape it Up. Hair is from Alli & Ali, where numerous styles are on sale for 50l through the end of the month.

Designer Prims

It's been a while since I've featured a build on here, so it's nice to showcase the house (and some more of the furniture) we've used for our recent fashion shots. For more views of the house and furniture, including other Homestuff gifts, see Astrid's posts here and here.

The Romantic Loft Space by Designer Prims is all Mesh with a land impact of just 28 prims including the removable room divider bookcase. Like all Designer Prim builds, it features texture-change walls and floors and in this case full-length windows running the entire frontage with shutters that can be turned on or off by clicking a switch. There are two large living areas, an exterior deck and, as you might guess, the light is great. The house is designed for small lots but is still quite roomy and would also work fine as a skyloft.

Designer Prims doesn't have an in-world presence now, but you can find the house on marketplace for just 99l.

Little Warehouse

The Challenge's 4th round this month has a factory/industrial theme, which is a style I frequently come back to in many of the builds I feature on the site.  Here I've taken Bauwerk's litttle warehouse skybox from this round and imagined it as a combined work/home space for an architect or engineer, using many of the items from the Challenge round as well as other pieces that work well in the build.  The decor emphasizes metal as well as wood, which softens the space quite a bit. The pictures below feature two of the stand-outs from this round: an excellent drafting table and assorted decor from Follow Us and Plato Novo's beautiful "Factory" chairs for %Percent.

The avi features a new release skin from (Red)Sand and super nice texture-change hair from Exile, on sale at Mens Dept and available in various tones. The clothing is also from Mens Dept, except for the shirt from American Bazaar that I quite like and previously blogged in a different color here.

As this post was getting long, I'll have more shots and review of the build and furniture in my next post, but in the meantime previews can be seen of all Challenge items on the event website.
