Designer Prims

It's been a while since I've featured a build on here, so it's nice to showcase the house (and some more of the furniture) we've used for our recent fashion shots. For more views of the house and furniture, including other Homestuff gifts, see Astrid's posts here and here.

The Romantic Loft Space by Designer Prims is all Mesh with a land impact of just 28 prims including the removable room divider bookcase. Like all Designer Prim builds, it features texture-change walls and floors and in this case full-length windows running the entire frontage with shutters that can be turned on or off by clicking a switch. There are two large living areas, an exterior deck and, as you might guess, the light is great. The house is designed for small lots but is still quite roomy and would also work fine as a skyloft.   

Designer Prims doesn't have an in-world presence now, but you can find the house on marketplace for just 99l.

Bungalow Pt. 2

Since it's hard to let go of that California style, here are a few more shots in and around L&K Prefab's Blue Bungalow from the April edition of the Challenge (see Pt.1 for more). Sun, surf, wine and outdoor showers seem mighty appealing after an endless Winter and now cold, dreary Spring in my neck of the woods.

A new round of the Challenge has actually just gotten underway - the theme this month is "underwater" and once again there are some interesting items from a wider range of participants that I'll be showing later this month.

Bungalow

The Challenge is a monthly event organized by Bauwerk and L&K Prefabs where participating builders have to create an object to fit a randomly generated theme. The second round theme this month is California Bungalow - maybe not the most exotic, but there are some nice items from the participants that should appeal to many (previews can be seen on the website).

The event also challenges bloggers to highlight a different theme every month and it was fun decorating L&K's entry, the Blue Bungalow, in an attempt to reflect the California Bungalow spirit. I'll show more decor items with this build in a later post (as well as the two excellent avis), but note that some of the furniture blogged below is from the Cookie Jar Spring Festival Hunt, which ends in a few days.

Bunny Hop

Another photo featuring some of the excellent gifts from the Nest's Easter Egg hunt (see Pt. 1 here). Eggies

The Nest's annual Easter Egg hunt started today and there are some wonderful gifts to be had from select stores on SL's leading home & decor shopping sim. The eggs are hidden throughout the sim, on rooftops and in attics, or scattered in the fields, but they are easily found and there are many of them - most of the participants have put out multiple gifts.

My favorite has to be the incredibly cute "Eggie" set of mesh figurines from What Next, which range from the dapper Mister Egg to a Geek in goggle glasses or moody Little Miss Monday, who perfectly expresses the Monday-morning blues (there are actually 6 figures to be found - I'll be going back for my missing egg).

I'll have more on the avi I'm using here in a later post (and more decor as well), but a few eggs seemed a good way to kick off a Saturday morning.

Ready to Vacation

This is just a quickie post I threw together in between packing since I'm about to leave for winter break somewhere in the real world. Four Walls

For the decor fans there are really some amazing hunts at the moment. The Four Walls hunt brings SL's top designers offering up some excellent gifts that should fit well with your design schemes. Gifts cost 20l so you need to choose wisely. There are too many standouts to name them all, but some of my favorites shown below include a great dresser from Pilot, a cool lamp from Vespertine (one of three), Cheeky Pea's hockey items and a fun guitar prop/chair from Zinnias.

Two other furniture hunt options now underway are the Courtyard Hunt (Free) and Cold Winter Nights (10l) You can see previews of almost all the gifts on the various hunt websites.
