Mini-Squall

At 6:00am it had all the makings of a fine day, the kind you dream about in October, but you never know when you’re offshore. A patch of dark clouds was gathering through the morning haze and we were heading right towards it. Half way to the pots, the wind picked up and the first drops began to fall. Rule No.1: keep your neck warm - so I grabbed my Gabriel sweater. You know, the one that goes right up to my ears. The one I never take off the boat.

By the 20 mile marker, it was a damn mini-squall. The sky darkened again, the rain rolling in like sheets and we went for the foul weather gear. Did I mention the wind, I guess I did. I threw on my Deadwool slicker. Yeah it’s covered in grease from the engines; it’s not a fashion show out there. It keeps my hands free and the rain off my back, that’s what matters! Anyway, we got our pots in though, cause that’s what we do...

Clothing from Mens Dept in this post includes the DeadWool raincoat and Gabriel’s sweater. The skin is from Mens Dept as well so go check out the round (ends Oct 31) - there is awesome stuff there. Also some cool new releases from Fashion Emergency and great grungy jeans that I used throughout the post from American Bazaar.

In La Flat (pt. 1)

Have you been to this month's edition of Collabor88? Lots of beautiful things for women there, and not a whole lot for men. But that's OK, because I was able to do a little home decorating. The furniture set below is by Trompe L'Oeil. It's mesh, comes in multiple colors and has a clean modern look. Best of all, mesh furniture can really help lower your prim count. And the set is just 88l through February 8th.

The backdrop here is La Flat's new Nightlife skybox. This skybox has some nice features including a panoramic living room, furnished kitchen and fireplace divider between the living area and bedroom (more pics coming in pt.2). And while this one is a new release, La Flat has a bunch of fun skyboxes starting at 1l that are well worth checking out.

Autumn Leaves

The leaves have turned and finally started to come down where I am. Living in a city, I don't have to rake them anymore, which was one of the painful chores of my youth. It always seemed like a hopeless task. As soon as you piled them up, a gust of wind would come and decimate the pile while blowing loads more from the trees. After a while, I would forget about raking and instead pick them up and throw them around - into the street or the neighbor's yard. Of course, the wind would usually blow them right back. Maybe I'm a little bit nostalgic...

This post uses some of the great poses that are out there on the fall theme as well as assorted group and hunt gifts. Note that there are a few items from GizzA Creations here. The GizzA group is now free to join, but will cost 250l starting in December. So join the group now if you want their great monthly gifts for free.
