Modularity

My last post on Four Walls concentrated on some of the rustic items, the grungy even. This time I wanted to feature the more modern gifts - those with clean lines and often modular in concept. Pieces such as Scarlet Creative's shelving units (the gift includes numerous versions that you can mix and match) or Breno's reading nook (part of a future modular series), work perfectly in Circa's "Infinity Cloud" Glass Studio from the hunt, which has cubed rooms off a main living space,  skylights with metallic highlights and panoramic glass windows (Mesh, 29 land impact). Four Walls goes to the end of the month and previews can be seen on the hunt website.

I'm wearing Diego, the new Mesh head from CheerNo, which is on sale at TDR Fusion until Feb 1. In a sense, with these mesh add-ons, be they heads, breasts, hands, feet or other appendages, the avi itself becomes modular, a base to which components can be added or subtracted at will depending on needs. CheerNo's head is interesting and can give a very realistic effect, but the lack of facial expressions can be a drawback. Some new releases shown below include Mens Dept items, a great shirt from HuHu (available with texture change hud) and an outfit from Apple May Designs, which is marking the opening of its new mens store with everything 50% off just this weekend (and a gift or two, gachas and some really impressive deals).

Circles of Light

This follows my previous post on Culture Shock (belatedly I know, computer problems kept me offline) with more from Sparrowtree Studios' CS releases as well as some furniture and props you can get at CS. Sparrowtree's sets work with multiple avis (or mannequins), come with great poses and make for some excellent pics.

The Mens Dept has a new round going until June 1. Like last time, the collection is truly impressive, but one of the stand-outs is definitely the full mesh outfit from Pumpkin. At 99l it is a must buy for that artsy, hipster look. The avi is the same combination I used in my earlier CS post from Akeruka & Kmadd.

Rustic Spring

I've been a fan of Designer Prims builds for a while - I blogged their Back to Black home just last month - so it's great to see this excellent gift from the Make Home Over Hunt, which fits so well with the season.

The house features two large rooms fronted with glass and separated by a wading pool, pergola and small deck. As usual with Designer Prims the walls, floors, deck and accent walls are all texture change and there are a ton of options. I'll be doing more photos of this great build in the next few days so stay tuned.

A pumpkin tale

Forget green I always say. Orange is where it's at. My pumpkin house is easy to heat, totally ecological and the insects handle all the recycling. It only has one room, but I don't really need more.

Some notes about the hunts: The mmm Halloween hunt has a small number of gifts all located in the same general area. There are no hints, just click all the pumpkins until you find the items. However, there are also tons of decoys. Without the generous assistance of Juliet Broono, I would never have found the munchkin outfits. Special hint from me: Pumpkins don't always grow on the ground.

The FTLO boo-for-2 hunt is also different. Every participating store has two gifts, one male and one female.The catch is that only one of the two items is free. There are no hints and all the gifts are located on the same sim.
